Kim Kardashian's robbery in Paris by Rachel HAMMOUD

Kim Kardashian’s robbery in Paris!
Two months ago, an unusual accident happened with Kim Kardashian in Paris on October 3rd.
After spending her fashion week in Paris, Kim has been tied up by five men who were disguised as police officers, in a luxury apartment. They stole jewelry and a ring worth over nine million euros. The thieves aren’t caught yet.
When her husband Kanye West knew about the robbery, he stopped his concert midshow in New York and left to get in touch with his wife. When he returned to the stage, he was over an hour late and he didn’t mention what happened to the audience.
Kim is terrified and emotionally damaged. She has been having flashbacks so she surrounded herself by bodyguards and security since the incident. All her family has been supportive to her and Kanye has always been by her side and he’s a very good husband. He wants to replace her stolen jewelry.
Kim is trying to get over what happened to her, but, what’s crazy to her is that people, even for a second, think she is fabricating this story. Some people think that it’s all fake because they haven’t shown her marks or scars from being tied up.

People rescued an Australian tourist who was found alive in the Malaysian jungle after disappearing for nearly two weeks. The man was urgently carried to helicopter that then took him to hospital. People discovered him after a manhunt of almost a fortnight. The Australian entered a national park on Borneo Island on the twentieth of October and people reported him missing five days later. The man, who is in his mid-twenties, was found in an area called Hidden Valley about five to six kilometres from the base camp. People think that he ate almost nothing apart from a few wild plants, but aside from hunger, he fortunately suffered no major injuries aside from some infected cuts on his feet.

Free public transport in San Francisco after hacking by Ahmad Mehio

On the November 28th, a group of hackers introduced the system of payment of a transport company in order to ask the company for money. The company said that they will not take risk and let the people travel for free till they find another solution. Finally they used their backup servers. Hackers demanded a ransom of 70,000 euros for return to service that no one have paid. It is not the 1st cyber-attack that San Francisco had and certainly not the last.

"Trump Is the President" by Ayman Sonji

Trump Is the President

Crowds of people chanted “Not my president” in the streets of California to express their anger at the election of Donald Trump as president of the United States. Making sure that their voices were heard, hundreds marched through big cities using anti-Trump slogans and shouting insults at the newly-elected president. Republican Donald Trump's victory over Hillary Clinton shocked many people and ended eight years of democratic control of the White House, but clearly, as the protests show, many people are not pleased with the outcome.

"Superhero Window Cleaners in Brazil" by Ayman Sonji

Superhero Window Cleaners in  Brazil

In Sao Paolo, Brazil, superhero window cleaners visited a children's hospital to make some sick patients happy, and they did this by rappelling outside the building and stopping at the windows so the children could see them. The window cleaners made themselves become everyday heroes by donning costumes such as the Flash, Batman, Iron Man, Spider Man, and Super Man.
The people in charge of the hospital came up with the idea to do this to commemorate Children's Day which Brazil celebrates on October 12.
Usually, parents give their children presents on this day, but hospital staff wanted to do something more. For the window cleaners and superheroes, it was all in a day´s work!

"Eight people on a motorbike" by Ayman Sonji

Eight people on a motorbike

Well, we have heard of riding tandem, but fitting 8 people on a motorbike is getting a bit ridiculous.
A person in a vehicle filmed an overloaded motorcycle driving along a road in China. The person who filmed was concerned for the safety of the bike’s passengers.
The video shows one man driving the bike while two girls sit at the front and three women with two more kids who sit at the back.
China’s Traffic Management Department warned people of the dangers of crazy driving and reminded motorists to bear safety in mind.

Thanksgiving by Sara Fanous

Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated in Canada, in the United States, in some of the Caribbean Islands and in Liberia. It was originally celebrated as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Similarly named festival holidays occur in Germany and Japan. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of october in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Several other places around the world observe similar celebrations. Although Thanksgiving has historical roots in religious and cultural traditions, it has long been celebrated as a secular holiday as well. At thanksgiving, families reunite for dinner where they say what they are thankful about then start their dinner.

A trip to remember by Rachel HAMMOUD

A trip to remember!

A year ago, I traveled to Turkey with my sisters and my grandmother and we stayed there for one week. We visited a lot of beautiful places, as The Blue Mosque in Sultan Ahmet, Aya Sofia, The Sea Life Aquarium, Estiklal Street in Taksim square, Topkapi Palace, Yaldiz Palace, The Bosphorus Bridge in Ortakoy, Jawaher mall and The Princesses Island. But the most amazing monument was Dolmabahche Palace. It is located in Istanbul and it’s owned by the Turkish State. On the third day of our trip, we went to Dolmabahche. The weather was very nice.
Dolmabahche is a breathtaking place! The Palace was surrounded by extensive gardens with lots of beautiful flowers and trees. At the entrance of the palace, there was a giant chandelier that was made from precious crystal. All the palace rooms were decorated with candles and expensive furniture, and there was a lot of paintings on the walls. We continued our tour in the palace and we arrived in an enormous and wonderful room: It was the ceremonies room! The columns were all made from solid gold and marble, the sofas were made from red velvet, the curtains were made from silk, the magnificent ceiling was made from precious stones and it was decorated with lots of amazing drawings! The whole room was shining like the stars in the sky! All the tourists were speechless! The Palace was like a majestic paradise! I will let you discover the rest by yourself through the pictures:Image result for dolmabahce palace

"Ear on the Arm" by Ayman Sonji

Ear on the Arm

A Chinese man lost an ear during a tragic car accident and ever since felt incomplete. Doctors in the city of Xi'an are trying to change that.
To begin the pioneering procedure, they took cartilage from Mr Ji’s ribs and then cut the cartilage into the shape of an ear. Subsequently, they implanted the cartilage under the skin of the man’s forearm, which was perhaps the most complicated and dangerous step but it was a success.
The artificial ear now needs to grow for at least another three months before the final surgery when it will be transplanted onto his head.
Mr Ji has gone through many operations since his accident, not only for his ear, but also for his skin and cheeks. He hopes that the operations will eventually bring him back a normal life.

Crêpe recipe by Zein Adada

ingredients:
-2 large eggs
-3 tbsp melted unsalted butter
-3/4 cup of milk
-1/2 cup water
-1 cup white flour
-3 tbsp white sugar
-a few dashes cinnamon
Preparation:
In a medium sized bowl, combine the ingredients, Whisk together until well combined and flour lumps are smooth. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes to allow the mixture settle.Preheat a medium frying pan over medium heat. When your mixture has settled, transfer it to a measuring cup. Should be almost 2 cups worth of batter. VERY IMPORTANT: Spray your pan EACH time with cooking before you pour a new crêpe, it will stick otherwise. Once your pan is hot and you have sprayed your pan with cooking spray, pour a small amount of batter into the pan. Immediately roll the pan in a circular motion to thin out the crêpe, keeping a circle shape as much as possible. Crêpes should be very thin, not thick like a pancake. Cook your crêpe for about a minute to a minute and a half  and then flip. The crêpe should be a light golden brown before flipping, if not, give it a little more time until it is. Once flipped, cook for another minute and then transfer to a plate. Repeat the process until you run out of batter, spraying the pan each time before pouring a new crêpe. To top the crêpe use anything you enjoy like Nutella, fruits, etc.

The one and only by Zein Adada

Smoking bun is popular for serving one burger.
Its one of the best burgers i've had in beirut for a long time. The chef is an expert ( maybe because there is only one thing on the menu) but the food taste great and the fries are excellent. The meal isn't huge and not tiny but right in the middle. The meal is composed of the burger, a side of fries and a soft drink. Its not exactly cheap but for the taste of its worth it.
